Intent

At Sheddingdean, our unique history curriculum promotes:

Children gaining an understanding where we are now due to key historical events which have affected and influenced the world.
Our learning strands of Settlement and Community, Wealth and Poverty, Leader and Rulers and Legacy and Innovation, help children to understand how civilisations have evolved and how they have been ruled and shaped over time.
Discovering the past, questioning and curiosity which in turn develops knowledge and deeper understanding of historical periods
Inspiration for children to think as historians, promoting a love of history and expressing their own personal responses.
